Taunton Fabrications are proud to have worked with Willmott Dixon, Hewitt Studios and Hydrock in supplying various architectal metalwork elements at the new Brunel Centre at the South Gloucestershire and Stroud College.
Located in Bristol, South Gloucestershire and Stroud (SGS) College is one of the newest colleges in the country, formed by the merger of Filton and Stroud Colleges in February 2012. The specialist Brunel Centre, on the college’s Wise Campus in north Bristol, is the new home to sixth form Science, Technology, Maths, and Engineering courses.
Taunton Fabrications were proud to be appointed by Willmott Dixon to complete all of the secondary and architectural metalwork at the centre, which included the internal glass balustrades to the CLT stairs complete with a white PPC handrails. With the building featuring an array of photovoltaic panels along the southern elevation, we designed and installed bespoke casings for the each of the nine panels manufactured from mild steel with a stainless steel backing plate. We worked closely with the PV supplier for the panels to be installed in our dedicated BUILDOFFSITE workshop before they were lifted into position.
