Science and Mathematics Building, Cardiff University

Taunton Fabrications have recently completed works at the new purpose-built Computer Science and Mathematics Building, where we worked with ISG to deliver an impressive feature stair.

About the Project

Located in the heart of Cardiff beside the University’s central campus, the building brings together the School of Computer Science and Informatics (COMSC) and the School of Mathematics (MATHS) into one world-leading facility, promoting collaboration and integration between the two disciplines and the wider University.

The feature staircase, designed and manufactured by Taunton Fabrications, takes pride of place in the central atrium of the Computational Science and Mathematics Building. Manufactured from mild steel with a black powder coated finish, the impressive staircase consists of 10 stair flights featuring stainless steel and glass balustrade.
