Lewins Place Office Building

Taunton Fabrications has recently completed a £1.3M project working with Bray & Slaughter, Hydrock and O’Leary Goss Architects to design and install 80 balconies for the former Lewins Place Office Building, Number One in Bristol.

About the Project

Number One Bristol is a distinctive former 1970’s office block building located in the heart of Bristol’s cultural centre and sits tall among the city skyline. This development has been designed with the city worker in mind, offering the best of modern living and amenities on site which are more akin to London style developments.

The development offers some spectacular far reaching views of the city and its surrounding countryside. Westerly apartments look towards Ashton Court, Southerly apartments look across the old city and beyond to the Mendips and Northerly views stretch as far as Clifton. Taunton Fabrications offered an offsite manufacture solution allowing balconies to arrive on site complete with decking, glazing and balustrade installed, providing a safe working platform from the moment of fitting on site. The unique method of design allows control of the decking and fitting process in a factory environment, and specially designed transportation frames to maximise the delivery / fitting efficiency on site.
