A Category B fit-out of the 1970's landmark in the centre of Reading; designed as a shared workspace that employs acoustic-enhancing technologies and a ’luxurious’ palette of materials.
Situated in Reading’s pedestrianised piazza, the project comprised 2,500m² of contemporary workspace over three floors of Thames Tower – a 1970s office block situated in the heart of Reading and recently reworked by dn-a architects.
To entice high-calibre companies to the area, it was decided to completely modernise the building by stripping it back to the frame and adding four new steel framed office floors. The CAT B fit out of the ground, first and second floors was carried out by ISG - using Taunton Fabrications for the feature staircase. A fairly uncomplicated design, primarily using Flat Mild Steel (FMS) sections, produced a light and airy feel to the area - a reminder that often "simple is best".
