Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality

Taunton Fabrications embrace a “culture of quality” and we maintain and develop Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality throughout the business.

We strive for the highest standards. Not only do our clients expect this, but so too do our people. Our commitment to achieving the very highest Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality standards is at the forefront of everything we do at Taunton Fabrications, whether that is in our factory premises or carrying out work on busy construction sites across the south west.

Standards and compliance

ISO9001:2015 & BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011 are just two of the standards we have which play an important part in the design process and all of our steelwork is CE marked and manufactured in compliance with BS EN 1090-1:2009+A1:2011.

To re-inforce our commitment to Health & Safety our installation work is carried out in accordance to ISO 45001:2018, CHAS & Worksafe schemes.

Sustainability and growth

Taunton Fabrications is committed to reducing its impact on the environment and has begun its journey to Net Zero. Our sustainability strategy focuses on three key areas:

  • People: We recognise that individually and collectively the actions we take have a lasting impact on our environment. Sustainability and continuous improvement are essential to our ongoing success whilst investing in future skills and technologies are key to achieving this.
  • Planet: Climate change is a concern for us all and Taunton Fabrication is committed to reducing our environmental impact through cutting carbon emissions, reducing our energy use through renewable sources, and seeking innovative solutions with stakeholders across our supply chains.

  • Prosperity: We will continue to invest in emerging processing technologies and capabilities to enable us to rise to this challenge. Our continued commitment to our apprenticeship programmes will ensure we retain the skills base required to succeed.

On-Site Solar Energy Generation

As part of our ongoing commitment to operating more efficiently and sustainably, Taunton Fabrications has invested in solar PV arrays across our site. We now have four solar arrays installed across our office, workshop and despatch facilities, helping us generate renewable electricity directly on site

For a fabrication business with significant energy demand, particularly from welding, cutting and workshop operations, this is an important step in reducing our reliance on grid electricity and improving the efficiency of how we use our facilities.

The solar arrays allow us to make better use of available roof space across the site while supporting our wider net zero journey. By increasing our on-site renewable energy generation, we are continuing to invest in practical, measurable improvements that reduce environmental impact and support a more sustainable future for the business.

This investment reflects our wider approach to sustainability: making sensible operational changes that improve performance, reduce energy demand where possible and help us deliver architectural metalwork in a more responsible way.
