We all know how laborious, time consuming and - sometimes - inefficient paper based systems can be. Fortunately, this is a thing of the past here at Taunton Fabrications as we have introduced two new digital systems to further improve quality control, health & safety and environmental issues.
iAuditor
All of our work - from manufacture, finishing, assembly, delivery and installation - is now inspected and signed off at various key stages by iAuditor. The system is set up so that certain tasks have to be completed before the next task can be carried out. Managers & Supervisors are able to use their mobile devices or tablets, quickly and easily, in order to record that the work has been completed satisfactorily - more importantly, it also records any non-conformances and re-works. Operations Manager, Tim Walrond explained:
"It is crucial to our business that accurate records are kept of every element of work that we manufacture and instal. Our iAuditor system enables us to have full transparency and assurance that our work is fully compliant - both with signed off checks and photographic evidence too. The live data means that we know exactly at what stage the work is at and highlights any non-conformances that need to be urgently addressed".
Action Management System
A new Action Management System (TAMS) that helps oversee compliance, health & safety and environmental issues is now fully operational. The fully digital system is headed up by our Operations Manager, Tim Walrond, and viewed / updated by various key members of staff. All department meetings are recorded using TAMS, with actions required allocated to certain individuals within an agreed timeframe. The system is fully transparent - enabling Directors & Managers to view what "actions" are upcoming and immediately highlighting major H&S matters.
TAMS is now being expanded in order to control other areas of the business, including: document control, vehicle maintenance & servicing, training, plant & machinery maintenance.
