New requirements for structural steel manufacturers

Taunton Fabrications certified to BS EN ISO 3834-2:2005.

With effect from 1st January 2021 all structural steel supplied to the Construction Industry has to comply with the requirements of the National Structural Steelwork Specification (NSSS) 7th Edition. One of the biggest changes to the new 7th Edition is that all Steel Fabrication businesses must have a Welding Quality Management System certified to BS EN ISO 3834-2:2005.

This is in addition to the CE Marking requirements of BS EN 1090-2:2018 that all steel fabricators have been required to have for many years. We are therefore pleased to advise all of our clients that Taunton Fabrications was successfully audited in December 2020 and duly awarded certification for both BS EN ISO 3834-2:2005 & BS EN 1090-2:2018 from the Steel Construction Certification Scheme.
