Who we are

For more than 30 years, steel fabrication and metalwork has been our passion.

Established in 1992, Taunton Fabrications is now regarded as one of the leading UK manufacturers of architectural and secondary metalwork to the construction and house building sectors. Our innovative approach, creative architectural solutions and commitment to excellence has been fundamental in forging the reputation that we have today. But we’re so much more than balconies, stairs, balustrade and structural steelwork.

At the heart of Taunton Fabrications’ growth and fortitude are its people. We’re built on the belief of investing time and resources in our staff; providing equal opportunities through training and professional development, to enhance the knowledge and skills across our multifaceted workforce.

Our highly skilled workforce

Our experienced designers, welders, fitters and project managers enable us to confidently tackle the most technically challenging architectural metalwork projects. We continue to provide equal opportunities through training and professional development, further enhancing the knowledge and skills across our multifaceted workforce.

Our active apprenticeship programme, which has been developed in collaboration with Somerset Education Business Partnership, Bridgwater & Taunton College and The Castle School, enables us to identify and nurture talented, and practically minded, individuals and support their careers within the steel fabrication industry.

Our culture of quality

Our commitment to achieving the very highest Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality standards is at the forefront of everything we do at Taunton Fabrications, whether that is in our factory premises or carrying out work on busy construction sites across the south west.

Our approach to technology

At Taunton Fabrications, we continue to invest in technology that improves the way we survey, design, manufacture and install architectural and structural metalwork.

Our capabilities include 3D laser scanning with the Leica BLK360, advanced 3D modelling and detailing using Tekla and Creo, CNC and automated fabrication equipment, tube bending technology and collaborative robotic welding. These systems help us improve accuracy, reduce rework, increase efficiency and give us greater control over complex fabrication.

Digital technology also supports our quality, inspection and site processes, helping information flow more effectively between design, production and installation teams.

We continue to develop our processes in line with CDM requirements, BIM principles, relevant British Standards and project-specific requirements, combining skilled fabrication with modern technology to deliver safe, accurate and high-quality metalwork.
